Rev. Dr. Bonnie Mixon McCrickard

The Rev. Dr. Bonnie Mixon McCrickard has been the Rector of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd since 2023. 

She was previously the Rector of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, where she was also Dean of the Wissahickon Convocation in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. Her first call out of seminary was to be the Associate Rector at Church of the Nativity in Huntsville, AL. 

Her education includes a Doctor of Ministry, Drew University, Madison, NJ (2020), Master of Divinity, University of the South, Sewanee, TN (2014), Bachelor of Arts in Ministry, Belmont University, Nashville, TN (2009), Master of Social Work, Washington University, Saint Louis, MO (1996) and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Trinity University, San Antonio, TX (1994). 

McCrickard's family has always been dedicated to service to God through the church and the community. Before entering the priesthood, she was a medical Social Worker for 15 years in Nashville, TN, during which she mentored advocacy groups in developing public health policy, taught professional ethics courses for social workers, and collaborated with interfaith colleagues to create welcoming spaces in the communities where she has lived. 

She has sung semi-professionally for 30+ years, including 10 years with the Nashville Symphony Chorus. She loves swimming, going to the beach at sunrise, traditional English choral music, good Tex-Mex, and travel.
